Save the recommendation while it is fresh
The hardest part of choosing a film is sometimes remembering the one you meant to watch. Keep a single place for movie and series recommendations instead of scattering them across messages, screenshots, and streaming apps.
Add a short reason with the title: ‘A slow mystery for a rainy evening’ or ‘Watch with someone who likes space stories’. That note gives your future self a decision cue without needing a complicated rating system.
A film and a series ask for different commitments
A movie is usually one evening. A series can be a companion for months. Before choosing, ask whether you want a complete story tonight or the beginning of something longer. The answer can be different even when the available time is the same.
Leisure lets you search movies and series separately using TMDB. Series runtime describes an episode, not the whole show. Keep that distinction in mind when planning an evening; an episode-length number is not a promise about the total commitment.
Choose for the people who are actually watching
Watching alone and watching with friends are different decisions. For a shared evening, choose a small shortlist together and check whether anyone has already seen the options or would enjoy seeing one again. A previous viewing is useful context, not an automatic veto.
A private circle in Leisure can hold selected shared library entries. Sharing a title is a separate choice from recording who joined a session. You can keep the experience private even when the title itself is visible to your circle.
Record the experience, including rewatches
After watching, a date, optional rating, and one sentence are often enough. Log a rewatch as a new session so the second evening does not replace the first. Record actual time when you know it; leave duration blank if you do not.
For a series, put the season and episode in a private session note for now. Leisure currently logs at the series/session level; automatic episode completion and next-episode tracking are planned rather than available. A clear note still lets you return after a long break without guessing where you stopped.
